“This year, 65,000 kilograms of ‘Dongshanyi’ Lengshui rice were sold out.” Li Yongjun, head of the company, added that the village has superior climate, flat terrain, abundant water, and fertile soil.

He transferred nearly 500 mu (33.33 hectares) of arable land this year to plant the Lengshui rice, which is soft and sweet in taste, and rich in nutrition. It is highly favored by consumers.

To fully tap into the potentials of land and achieve maximum economic benefits, Li Yongjun developed a circular ecological agriculture model. He utilizes livestock and poultry manure in crop planting.

“We have raised over 1,500 chickens and ducks, and we use the animal manure to fertilize the fields. The vegetables grow well with good quality.” Li Yongjun said. The villagers can plant vegetables or work in the base to earn money.

To further develop industries, the township government has taken a series of measures.

This year, it has issued 613,000 yuan in agricultural subsidies, built high-standard farmland, and helped each village build agricultural irrigation channels, which greatly facilitate the development of farmers’ planting and breeding industries.

Now, the township has 5 large-scale livestock and poultry farms, 9 large poultry farmers, 4,330 mu (288.67 hectares) of grain planting area.

“In recent years, we have made efforts to promote the development of characteristic industries like alpine vegetable, Lengshui rice and small fruit, encouraged villages to develop agricultural, cultural and tourism integration projects such as agricultural and sideline products and homestay inns, providing a strong guarantee for the increase of villagers’ income.” Guo Yuanquan, secretary of Dongluo township, said that in the future, it will continue to build beautiful countryside, seek funds for projects, improve infrastructure construction, and enhance the happiness index of people.
