In order to facilitate shopping for citizens, the first agricultural product exhibition and sales fair, the sixth Chinese New Year’s Shopping, and the fourth arts and crafts trade fair were launched in Guiyang County on January 14. Citizens can purchase Chinese New Year’s goods, local agricultural products, and crafts in a "one-stop" manner.
There are over 100 booths at this exhibition, including more than 40 booths for agricultural products from the towns and villages in the county. Villagers can apply for booths for free.
“Our sour chili peppers are very popular,” said a villager from Qingxi Village of Baishui Yao Township. This exhibition provides them with a good sales platform. The sour chili peppers and preserved products in the village have been recognized by the market. He is planning to open a local specialty store in Guiyang County to let urban people taste authentic Baishui products and drive more villagers to boost income.
Liu Xiaoyan, a villager from Banqiao Village of Liufeng Town, sells ginger at the exhibition. She introduced the effects of ginger, attracting many customers to purchase. Her father has planted 2 mu (about 0.13 hectares) of yellow ginger, and there has been a bumper harvest of yellow ginger this year, but sales have been a challenge. This exhibition gave her full confidence. It’s hoped that there will be more such trading platforms in the future to help villagers sell agricultural and sideline products.
Li Antian, a tour guide from Chaoyang Village of Zhenghe Town, has been voluntarily telling people the Red story of “Stay Overnight at Lishan” for over 40 years. At the Arts and Crafts Fair, he sells his own calligraphy works to increase income and tell the Red story, hoping to pass on the story from generation to generation.
