The Dragon Culture Exchange, as well as the Third Folk Activity of Longtan Town, was held at the Longtan Huahai Ecological Park in Longtan Town of Jiahe County on February 12. Thirteen students from Peking University participated in it to experience the charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture together with local residents.

The folk culture show kicked off with a dragon dance performance. The melodious Jiahe Marriage Song expressed the longing for a better life. The beautiful ditty “Picking Flowers in Feb” demonstrated the local people’s admiration for nature. The unique festive lantern opera pushed the atmosphere to a climax. The performance “Descendants of the Dragon” given by Peking University students further showcased the enduring power of the Chinese people. The audience was deeply attracted by the wonderful performances and took out their phones to record the unforgettable moments.
There were also multiple interactive experience areas set up at the event site, and the students participated full of zest. In the calligraphy and painting experience area, they spread out rice paper, dipped brushes in ink, and finished their calligraphy and painting works to express their emotions. Paintings depicting the bustling scenes of the Lantern Festival and calligraphy works with good wishes expressed the love for traditional culture and blessings for the festival.
In the food experience area, the students tasted local specialties such as Dengzhan Ciba and rice tofu, which received their high praise.
They gained a deep understanding of the food culture and folk customs in Jiahe, felt the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and strengthened their cultural confidence.
Next, Longtan Town will continue efforts to explore local folk cultural resources, create distinctive cultural brands, and promote the integrated development of culture and tourism, injecting cultural power into rural revitalization.
