Recently, green-winged teals were captured by infrared cameras in Mangshan National Nature Reserve of Yizhang County, Chenzhou City.

The green-winged teal belongs to the order of geese and the family of ducks. It is included in China’s list of wild animals. It prefers to roost near water and on covered ground.
Fish and shrimps in the water are the favorite of the green-winged teals.
In recent years, increased efforts have been made to monitor and protect wildlife, resulting in continuously improved ecological environment in the reserve. Especially the Langpan Lake located in the core protected area has become an important habitat for migratory birds to overwinter.
As of now, staff have observed and recorded up to 194 species of migratory birds in the reserve.
