2025-02-23

In recent years, relying on its natural resource advantages, Changchong village of Liyutang town, Yongxing county has actively guided farmers to develop the mushroom industry with a development model that combines the village collective with cooperatives and farmers, making small mushrooms a strong force for rural revitalization.

At the base of Gaotang Qingquan Edible Fungi Planting Cooperative in Changchong village, shiitake mushrooms are growing well.

Changchong village is located at a height of 400 meters above sea level. The fertile land, clear mountain springs and large temperature difference between day and night provide a unique environment for the growth of edible mushrooms.

Xiao Qinghua, head of the cooperative, said that shiitake mushrooms of the base have good quality and attract many customers. With a fixed customer base, they don’t have to worry about prices or sales.

The cultivation, harvesting and other links of shiitake mushrooms require much labor. The large-scale mushroom cultivation has created jobs for about 50 local villagers working at their doorsteps.

To further improve industrial benefits and expand sales channels, the village actively introduced an advanced edible mushroom planting technology. This consolidated the foundation of mushroom planting, planted multiple varieties of mushrooms like oyster mushroom, pleurotus geesteranus, needle mushroom, and formed a diversified edible mushroom industrial structure. Its products are directly sold to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
