The 6th Hunan Photography Art Exhibition was recently launched at the Guiyang Cultural Center in Chenzhou City. 110 photography works around the inheritance and development of operas in Hunan are on display, presenting the cultural heritage and humanistic charm of various operas in Hunan.

The Hunan Photography Art Exhibition has been held for six sessions since 2018, becoming a beautiful brand in the cultural field of Hunan.
This exhibition aims to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the people, preserve opera images in Hunan, inherit and protect Hunan’s opera culture, promote Hunan spirit, and tell Hunan stories well.
The works involve multiple operas, including Hunan Opera, Qi Opera, Chenhe Opera, Han Opera, Jinghe Opera, Baling Opera, Hunan Kun Opera, Huagu Opera, Yang Opera, Huadeng Opera, Nuotang Opera, Miao Opera, and Dong Opera.
Photographers captured the exciting moments of these performing groups in urban and rural areas with their lenses to depict the diverse lives of opera actors.
Besides, He Dong’an, chairman of Hunan Art Photography Society, also gave a photography lecture to photography enthusiasts. Based on his over 40 years of photography experience, he shared how to capture the diverse lives of opera actors through the lens, as well as how to integrate the essence of Hunan culture into creations.
He emphasized the important role of photography art in cultural inheritance, encouraged young photography enthusiasts to go into the thick of life and record the changes of the times with images.
This exhibition will continue until March 10 and then the second stop will be at the Shaoyang Art Museum.
