Recently, Linwu taro, a characteristic agricultural product in Linwu county of Chenzhou city, was promoted on the Evening News of CCTV.

Linwu taro has become an important engine to drive the county’s economy.
At the taro base of Linwu county, the shelf life of taro has been extended from 90 days to 210 days. Harvested taros will be detected by an infrared spectrometer for starch content and then sorted according to national standards. Those with starch content of 40% will be processed into food and sent to restaurants, those with starch content of 30% will be delivered to supermarkets, and dried taro peels can be made into feeds. This will help growers increase income by about 2,000 yuan per mu (0.067 hectares).
