Zhangshi Town has superior natural conditions, with fertile soil, sufficient sunshine, and abundant rainfall, which are suitable for the growth of oil tea trees. Guiyang County has made efforts to develop the oil tea industry to increase agricultural efficiency and farmers’ income.

“Excellent high-yield oil tea varieties are planted in scientific ways. They can enter the peak production period in four to five years, with considerable economic benefits. Now, the oil tea industry is thriving in the village, and many villagers work here. They can earn income every day and have the time to take care of their families,” said Cao Zhimin, head of the oil tea base in Hecang Village of Zhangshi Town.

To ensure the effectiveness of oil tea cultivation, Guiyang County has also launched various oil tea cultivation technology training courses to provide professional technical guidance for growers.
