On April 1, an agricultural drone sprayed pesticides evenly according to a preset route at the citrus planting base in Qingjiang Town. 

 

The spraying task was done for more than 100 mu (6.67 hectares) of the citrus planting base on the day.

 

Agricultural drones are highly favored by farmers due to their high efficiency, precision, and labor saving. 

 

To standardize the application of drones in the agricultural field, the “List of Subsidies for Agricultural Machinery Purchase and Application in Hunan Province from 2024 to 2026” was released. 

 

In response, the town government encouraged farmers to purchase agricultural drones to strengthen modern agriculture through the support of technology and equipment.

 

Now, more than ten fruit farmers in the town have purchased large agricultural drones, including 7 in Yuanhe village. 

 

Compared to traditional manual spraying operations, a drone working for 10 minutes is equivalent to a person’s workload of 2 to 4 hours. This efficient and fast spraying method not only greatly saves labor costs, but also improves operational efficiency, injecting new vitality into the citrus industry in Qingjiang Town.

 

Citrus is the pillar industry of Qingjiang Town, with a current planting area of 35,000 mu (2,333.33 hectares), and it is an important channel for villagers to increase their income.

 

This time, the town carried out a unified action, using agricultural drones to concentrate time and effort on large-scale unified prevention and control of citrus pests and diseases, which scientifically and effectively improved the prevention and control effect, and received unanimous praise from the locals. 

 

The town will continue to promote modern agricultural technologies such as agricultural drones, help promote the sustainable and healthy development of the citrus industry, and provide more powerful support for villagers to increase income.
