In the passion fruit planting base, villagers are busy planting passion fruits and chili peppers on sunny days. 

 

 

Chili peppers have a short planting cycle, which can be harvested in about two months, while  passion fruit has a relatively long growth cycle. When passion fruit is still in the growth period, the complete cycle of chilli pepper from planting to harvesting is already done. 

 

 

It ensures both short-term economic benefits and long-term stable income. This intercropping model can fully utilize land resources and maximize land benefits.

 

 

According to the head of the base, last year, the base produced 20,000 kg of chili peppers and 25,000 kg of passion fruits, with a comprehensive income of about 600,000 yuan. This year, the base increased 10 mu (0.67 hectares) of land for the intercropping of passion fruit with cantaloupe.
