Among rows of lush tea trees in the tea planting base of Zhongjia village, villagers carrying bamboo baskets on their backs are picking tea leaves skillfully with their two hands.

Chen Zi, a young man born in the 1990s in the village, has a tea garden of more than 20 mu (1.33 hectares). Ten years ago, he built a homestay inn in his tea garden.

Many tourists recently walked into the tea garden to enjoy the rural scenery, and the homestay inn also ushered in the first tourist peak after the Spring Festival.

“As tourism in Mangshan Mountain Scenic Area continues to improve, we will focus on the integrated development of tea and tourism and expand the scale of the homestay inn to increase income,” said Chen Zi.

Relying on the tourism of Mangshan and the integrated development of tea and tourism, in recent years, Zhongjia Village has leveraged its unique natural resources to develop 2,400 mu (160 hectares) of tea, with over 20 tea enterprises, an annual output value of more than 12 million yuan, and a per capita income increase of 12,000 yuan.

More than 90% of local villagers are engaged in tea planting, processing, and sales. The booming development of the tea industry has promoted stable employment and increased income for Yao people at their doorstep, achieving a double harvest of economic and social benefits.
