According to primary estimation of the "Semi-annual Report of Chenzhou", in the first half of this year, Chenzhou has achieved 57.13 billion yuan in GDP, up 14.5% over the same period of last year, with the growth rate 1.1% higher than the provincial average and ranking the third across Hunan.
Information Office of Chenzhou Municipal People's Government held a press conference to release the above-mentioned statistics. Gu Fangsheng, director of Statistics Bureau of Chenzhou remarked that the economic situation of Chenzhou is experiencing a decent momentum, yet arduous efforts are required in the second half of 2011. He stated that the city focused on people's livelihood in the first half and factor investment has made the largest contribution to economic growth.
When looking into the economic development in the second half, Director Gu believed that the city will embrace more favorable factors than adverse factors, more opportunities than challenges. The city is expected to maintain a steady and rapid growth in economy this year.
