On August 29, Yizhang County held the starting activities of major transport projects. Two major transport projects, namely, the north-to-north interchange of the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and the 107 National Highway (North Interchange to Maoliping Section) Quality Improvement and Renovation Project, were concentratively started, with a total investment of 312 million yuan.
It was understood that the north-to-north interchange of the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway is located in Shapingli Village, Wuling Town, about 16 kilometers from Liangtian to the north and 10 kilometers from Yizhang to the south. It is a type A single horn interchange, covering the main line of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway 1080 meters long, with 5 ramps 2127 meters long, and a toll station with 3 in and 5 out ramps, as well as necessary traffic engineering and facilities along the line, with a total investment of 162 million yuan. 107 National Highway (North Interchange to Maoliping Section) Quality Improvement and Renovation Project is one of the "13th Five-Year" National Highway Planning Projects in Hunan Province, which starts at the interchange of North Yizhang of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Highway, ends at Maoliping, Wuling Town, 107 National Highway, and links up with the North Wenming Road under construction. It is 2.625 kilometers in length and 60 kilometers per hour in design speed, constructed according to the standard of two-way six-lane urban trunk road with a width of 32 meters and a total investment of 150 million yuan.
After the completion of the two projects, it is of great significance for further optimizing the structure of regional road network, realizing the traffic flow conversion between Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and 107 National Highway, improving the capacity of national highway, alleviating the traffic pressure in county and urban areas, promoting the expansion and upgrading of county capacity, accelerating the construction of Chenzhou grand cross town group and building a new pattern of open development.
