10 sea ships which were manufactured by Hunan province were under construction

It was learned from Port Office of Yueyang Government that 10 sea ships which were manufactured by Hunan province were under construction. 4 of them have been finished and placed to trial trip. They were expected to be shipped to HK and Macau in the first half year of 2015, which would present new chances for Yueyang city to be improved as the new increasing pole of Hunan navigation.

It was introduced that Hunan Sea Ship Team was invested by Hunan HK-Macau Shipping Co., Ltd. with over 400million yuan to build the direct shipping line to HK and Macau. 10 container ships with 3000-5000 tonners (7 of the 10 are 3000 tonners and other three are 5000 tonners) would be built by it. As introduced by the principal of the port, currently, the main body project of rest 6 ships have been done by 4 shipyards of Xiangtan and Yiyang city, and now they were proceed to the installation of power and other facilities (all of them were installed with sockets that they are capable to transport freezing products). It indicated that Hunan province has its private sea ship team, which would fully change and reverse the passive situation encountered by Chenglingji Port: cargos were available, but no ships; cargos were available, but should wait for ships; and all direct shipping lines were operated by external ships. All the ships would serve for the international direct lines to Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and other Southeast Asia countries.

It was learned that the direct line from Chenglingji port to HK and Macau was placed to operation from March, 2012, which reached the breakthrough of regular direct line operated by Chenglingji port. The port became the exclusive port above Nanjing of Yangtze River with regular international direct line. Once the private sea ship team available, it would play significant role on improving joint transportation of rivers & seas, and land & water, and construction of large port.
