“It is great that we can get profit from barren land and work meanwhile.”gladly said by Zhu Shefa- one of the villagers of Hujia group of Dongzheng village, Luyang town, Rucheng county when he learned that a cooperative would be set up to develop the barren lands of the village. In order to solve the problem of barren lands, Dongzheng Village Party Committee collected some capitals and established Zhongwang Fruit and Vegetable Farmers’ Professional Cooperative to build a new leisure agricultural tourism park there.

The leisure agricultural tourism park is located in the joint line of Rucheng Bei exit of Xiarong expressway and Rucheng county downtown where is a good place for building a comprehensive industrial park with some projects as leisure, sight viewing, experiencing farming work, special catering, and etc. The general plan for leisure agricultural tourism park would be combined together with new rural construction, upgrading of the industrialization level of agriculture, improving ecological condition, and expanding employment & increasing farmers’ income. It planned to place 50million yuan on the project and was estimated to gain over 8million yuan profit annually. Till the end of this February, more than 1200mu greenhouses for fruits and vegetables have been finished. The greenhouses for grape and watermelon were estimated to be ready for picking up in this autumn. The artificial beach and swimming pool were being under construction and were planned to be opened to public in this summer.

Once the park finished, more than 200 job vacancies can be provided to local surplus rural labors and per capita 26,000yuan income can be increased, which would effectively helped to promote the development of leisure tourism and increase farmers’ income.
