Guiyang’s home furnishing products exported to Africa

Workers were working hard to fulfill orders from Rwanda in Africa at the workshop of Hunan Heibai Furniture Company in Guiyang High-tech Zone on February 25.

“Now, our main products exported to Africa are beds, bedside tables, dinning tables, coffee tables and other home furnishings. And the production has already been scheduled to April,” said Zeng Song, chairman of the company.
 
Under the guidance of the Belt & Road Initiative, the China-Africa cooperation continues to deepen, leading to the increasing demand for “Made in China” products in the African markets. Guiyang county’s household products are also popular in the African market.

Hunan Heibai Furniture is located in Gonghe Area of Guiyang High-tech Zone. It’s a relatively early home furnishing production enterprise, which previously developed in Dongguan and invested in building a factory in Guiyang county at the end of 2022. The factory was put into production in July 2023. The company’s products are exported to over 10 countries and regions including Africa and the Middle East. 
 
In the past two years, a dedicated foreign trade team has worked to expand the African market.
 
Last year, the company’s output value was over 6 million US dollars, about 50 % of which are from the African market.

“With the continuous improvement of China-Africa relations, home furnishing enterprises can enjoy more government support in the African market, and we believe that there will be new breakthroughs in the African market,” the chairman of the company was full of confidence in exploring the African market.
 
Other companies such as Hunan Elitecore Foaming Products Co., Ltd. have also joined forces with home furnishing enterprises to seize new opportunities for overseas market development and actively expand the African market.

Hunan Elitecore Foaming Products is a polyurethane foam machinery enterprise that integrates R&D, manufacturing, and sales. 
 
Hu Zhijun, foreign trade manager of the company, introduced that the company’s products are mainly targeted at the African, Middle Eastern, and South American markets. In 2024, the sales revenue reached over 2 million US dollars, with that in the African market accounting for about 30%. 
 
This year, the company will further accurately meet the diversified consumption needs of the African market, join forces with other companies to achieve new breakthroughs in the African market.

In 2024, the import and export trade volume of Guiyang County to Africa was 293.2 million yuan. The Guiyang High-tech Zone Home Furnishing Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park achieved an import and export trade volume with Africa of 110 million yuan. 
 
In recent years, the county government has taken a series of measures like one-stop service, policy guidance, and training to help more enterprises go global.
