Jianfeng Mining obtains first lithium mining license

2025-03-07

Hunan Jianfeng Mining Company in Linwu county of Chenzhou city obtained a ten-year lithium mining license issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People’s Republic of China recently.

The project is located in Xianghuapu, Huatang Township, Linwu County, with a mining area of 4.6076 square kilometers and a production scale of 510,000 tons per year. It involves multiple minerals such as lithium, tungsten, tantalum, niobium, lead, and zinc.

Hunan Jianfeng Mining is one of the mining sectors of Hunan Anneng Qisheng New Energy Technology. In September 2022, Shanghai Anneng Gongjian Mining Group reached a cooperation agreement with Linwu county, becoming the first one to settle in Linwu county and build a whole industrial chain project of lithium battery new energy.

It established Hunan Anneng Qisheng New Energy Technology to build a raw ore processing production line with an annual output of 30 million tons, a lithium concentrate beneficiation plant with an annual output of 3 million tons, a lithium carbonate production line with an annual output of 150,000 tons and a lithium battery production project.

At present, Hunan Anneng Qisheng has invested about 3 billion yuan in Linwu County. An executive of the company said that obtaining this mining license is of great significance for the company, because it means the increase of the mining scale and the extension of the mining period to 10 years, and open-pit mining is permitted, which provides a solid raw material guarantee for the integrated development of the lithium battery industry chain.

Chenzhou is the hometown of nonferrous metals, with abundant lithium mineral resources mainly distributed in counties like Linwu, Guiyang and Yizhang. In 2024, several measures have been issued to support the high-quality development of the lithium battery new energy industrial chain in Chenzhou, providing policy support in ten aspects including cultivating industrial clusters, supporting innovative development and accelerating project approval.

By the end of 2024, the output value of lithium-ion new energy in Chenzhou exceeded 70 billion yuan, and it is picking up pace towards a billion-yuan industry.

As the main battlefield for Chenzhou to build a new energy industry for lithium batteries, Linwu County has introduced large enterprises such as Shanghai Ane, Dazhong Mining, and Corun to build a complete industry chain for lithium batteries, with solid state batteries put into mass production, and the 25,000-ton lithium carbonate project put into operation.
