It was learned that Guiyang Oil Tea Association led the principals of the board members and members of some oil team professional cooperatives to hold “oil tea industry management technology training course” with the model of “combining theory and practice”. They guided the trainees to view the operation of technology and practice it accordingly on ten-thousand-mu oil tea development demonstration base of Zhangshi town, which helped the trainees to apply their knowledge on practicing and laid solid foundation for the planting of oil tea trees and management of oil tea business.

In the morning, the organizers moved the class to the ten-thousand-mu oil tea development demonstration base of Zhangshi town and guided the trainees to operate and practice the technologies on-site. Combining with the theories, the technical experts taught the trainees how to cut the oil tea tree, how to fertilize, how to check the sources of some diseases of the tree, how to control the diseases, how to handle the soil preparation, moisture, transplant, and etc., and some other details. Some trainees took the on-site practice on the base with the guidance of the experts and asked the questions if any problems happened on the process.

It was learned that Guiyang county is with abundant mountainous resources and long history of tea planting. Its geography condition and forestry resources are suitable for planting oil tea trees, which enabled it with good varieties and quality. In recent years, Guiyang County Party Committee and Guiyang Government issued series measures to encourage the development and planting of oil tea trees and also arranged 2million yuan as the subsidies to support its improvement. The model of“Enterprise+ farmer+ base”was actively explored by local government by establishing two main production zones in Yangshi and Liantang which were located in the east and west area of the county respectively. The towns and villages around the two zone were radiated by them and formed a construction pattern of “main production zone+ radiation area”. Till now, there are 15 board members of oil tea industrial association, over 20 oil tea professional cooperatives, and over 1200 members. 100,000 mu oil tea demonstration base has been built in the county, 25,000mu of which was operated with low production forest improvement and 75,000mu of which was operated with new fast-growing and high-yield oil tea forest. Such measures helped to promote Guiyang county’s oil tea industry to be better improved with large-scale and industrialization.
