Guiyang’s enterprises expand business overseas

2023-08-10

Recently, at the Hunan (Guangdong) Intelligent Home Appliance Industrial Park in Guiyang High-Tech Zone, workers were busy loading and unloading goods for orders from Singapore.

As overseas markets are picking up, various foreign trade enterprises in Guiyang High-Tech Zone are ramping up efforts to seek more overseas orders.

“This shipment will be delivered to Singapore, with a value of approximately 150,000 yuan,” said Tan Hongxia, the foreign trade manager of Chenzhou Shida Furniture Co., Ltd.

This year, the company introduced a batch of intelligent production equipment, replacing labor with machine. By inputting the appropriate data, a single worker can manage multiple machines, greatly improving production efficiency. The company is also exploring opportunities to expand into the Middle East and European markets.

Following the success of Chenzhou Shida Furniture, many foreign trade enterprises in Guiyang Count are busy expanding their overseas business. Recently, Harvest Loyal participated in the IMM COLOGNE and gained several orders from new customers.

Zhu Laiming, head of Harvest Loyal, revealed that at the IMM COLOGNE, they not only won the hearts of existing customers but also expanded their client base. This success has further strengthened their determination to invest more effort in producing high-end home products with better design and quality, laying a solid foundation for this year’s production.

“Successfully securing overseas orders this time is a recognition of our company’s smart manufacturing capabilities by foreign customers, giving me great confidence,” said Zhu.

The confidence and momentum in the development of foreign trade enterprises are inseparable from a favorable business environment. It is reported that on March 24 of this year, Guiyang County issued a policy to actively boost economic growth, taking a significant step towards creating a market-oriented, lawful, and international first-class business environment.

Guiyang County also issued a specific action plan for foreign trade development, focusing on meeting the urgent demands of foreign trade enterprises in expanding markets, seizing orders, and attracting investment.

The plan provides guidance in specialized services, logistics support, and organizing enterprises to participate in trade fairs, aiming to encourage more companies to expand overseas markets.

“As foreign trade service officers, we regularly visit companies to understand their recent production and operation status, as well as their current order situation, and promptly inform them of relevant exhibitions,” said Li Chenxi, the foreign trade service officer of Guiyang High-Tech Zone.

In addition, the service officers also promptly collect the demands and issues of the enterprises.

They develop tailored optimization service plans, and study export measures for stock and increment of key enterprises, improving the foreign trade development environment. This enables companies to lighten their burdens and expand their markets, achieving increased orders and expanding their business through various channels, thereby enlarging Guiyang’s foreign trade import and export scale.

It is reported that from January to June, Guiyang is expected to achieve US$230 million in imports and exports, representing a growth rate of 161.08% compared to the same period last year. There are 6 export enterprises that have achieved a zero breakthrough.
