Hunan Teikyo New Materials Co., Ltd. specializes in the research and development, production, sales, and service of environmentally friendly coating products and industrial new materials, with 31 patents. It has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise and a national-level specialized, refined, characteristic and innovative enterprise. Its products include automotive coatings, industrial anti-corrosion coatings, water-based coatings, etc., which are applied in such fields as automobiles, mobile terminals, home appliances, heavy machinery, high-speed rail, aerospace, and containers.

 

In order to further promote the research and application of water-based industrial paint, and strive for independent innovation and domestic product substitution in the field of automotive production base coating, the company started the construction of the automotive body coating project in February this year. The project, with an area of 33 mu (2.2 hectares) and a total investment of 100 million yuan, includes 1 production workshop, 3 warehouses, and a series of supporting engineering facilities. 

 

 

The project is committed to building an excellent intelligent production factory, and the products will be supplied to many well-known enterprises such as BYD, SGMW, Geely, NIO, XPENG Motors, Changan Ford, Chery, Nissan, and SAIC Volkswagen.

 

It is expected to achieve the capacity of 30,000 tons after full production, with the annual output value of over 500 million yuan and the tax revenue of over 20 million yuan. Besides, it will provide 100 new job opportunities. 

 

 “In recent years, the company has accelerated the development and application of water-based coatings for automotive bodies, solving the bottleneck technology of automotive body coatings. This technology has been monopolized by foreign enterprises before,” said Chen Changfeng, assistant to the executive president of the company.  

 

 

The manufacturing of water-based coatings for automotive bodies has strict requirements for the process conditions and processes in production. As the company’s first phase production workshop can’t meet the requirements any longer, it is an irresistible trend to launch the second phase project for the innovation and green development of the enterprise.

 

In addition to water-based industrial paint, the company has also achieved significant results in the fully solid UV insulation coating project for power batteries, and won the third prize in the Hunan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition with this project.

 

It not only meets environmental requirements, but also has the potential to bring new development opportunities to the electric vehicle industry.

 

 

According to Ouyang Haibo, CEO of the company, this technology will help improve the safety performance of electric vehicle batteries and gradually become dominant worldwide.

 

The company established a joint laboratory with Central South University in 2014 and has laboratories in Chenzhou, Liuzhou, Dongguan, Hefei, Chongqing, Suzhou and other places. It possesses multiple invention and utility model patents. It has also cooperated with many well-known car companies and mobile phone brands such as SGMW, BYD, Honda, Toyota, Samsung, and OPPO.
