Linwu industrial park ungraded into high-tech zone

2023-04-02

Several days ago, the industrial park in Linwu County, Chenzhou City was upgraded to a high-tech zone, approved by the Hunan provincial government.

In recent years, the Linwu industrial park has implemented a targeted approach with comprehensive strategies and specific measures. It charts processes based on its project schedule and responsibility distribution as an incentive, in a bid to power itself by five edges of planning, platform, management, and profile. Furthermore, any certain task is given 39 measures and standards and will be assessed from 65 aspects, which is then delegated to enterprises and service departments.

Each responsible unit is guided and directed, taking the initiative to advance, and presenting a good development trend characterized by high-end service quality, systematic industrial cultivation, and a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. As a result, it was awarded the title of “Advanced Unit for Monitoring and Coordinating the Industrial Economic Operation of the Province”, and its innovation and entrepreneurship efforts were recognized by the provincial government. It ranks 46th among parks with five edges across Hunan, rising by 25 places than the previous year.

The Linwu industrial park has upgraded its platform for business startups and innovations by leveraging its abundant lithium resources to attract investment and build a complete industry chain for new energy lithium batteries. Many executives from nationally-listed companies have visited Linwu to explore opportunities and sign contracts.

Last year, at the New Hunan Investment and Trade Fair, Shanghai Aneng Industrial Construction Mining Group Co., Ltd. signed a contract worth 40.6 billion yuan, while Inner Mongolia Dazhong Mining Co., Ltd. signed a contract worth 16 billion yuan at the World Computing Conference in Changsha.

At the Hunan (Changsha) Battery Industry Expo, Shenzhen Keliyuan Shuzhi Energy Technology Co., Ltd. signed a contract worth 19.8 billion yuan, and Anshan Heavy Duty Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. signed a contract worth 26 billion yuan.

These investments have yielded fruitful results for the development of the lithium battery new energy industry.

To further upgrade innovation and entrepreneurship, the Linwu industrial park has strengthened its technological capabilities by encouraging strategic cooperation between its leading companies and well-known research institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Central South University, and Xiangtan University.

In March 2023, the Xiangtan University postdoctoral workstation was established at Hunan JOYSUN New Energy Co., Ltd. in the park. There are six technology research and development centers and three provincial-level or higher research institutions established by companies in the park.

The park has also established six provincial-level or higher science and technology service intermediary institutions, including one national-level innovation and entrepreneurship space, two provincial-level incubators, and the Hunan jade product quality supervision and inspection center.

In addition, several companies in the park have established cooperative relationships with universities and research institutes such as Xiangtan University, Hunan University, and Guilin University of Technology to undertake provincial-level or higher scientific and technological projects.

The Liuwu industrial park has unleashed great creativity and innovation, giving a boost to the development of enterprises. There are now 41 companies above designated size, 23 high-tech enterprises, 52 science and technology small and medium-sized enterprises, and 7 provincial-level “little giant” enterprises.
