Hunan Rucheng Economic Development Zone, a provincial development zone constructed by the provincial government in April of 1992, administrates Sangjinagkou and Sanxing industrial parks, with a total area of 6.5  k㎡(Sanjingkou industrial park of 1.7 k㎡ and Sanxing industrial park of 4.8  k㎡).It has accomplished 800 million yuan in fixed assets investment and developed 2.5  k㎡ of land. 1. Mineral. Ruchheng, the famous “hometown of nonferrous metals”, has more than 30 kinds of minerals including wolfram, iron, molybdenum and potash feldspar. The rich minerals among them include iron(about 180 million ton), wolfram(about 1 million ton), potash feldspar (about 2 million ton), fluorite mineral(about 1.2 million ton), high-quality granite (about 1 billion m3). Copper, molybdenu, rare-earth, clay and kaolinite reserve are also in great reserve. The annual transaction volume of Wolfram mineral takes up more than 1/6 of the national total, which makes it the biggest Wolfram agglomeration zone in the country.

 

2. Hydro-electricity. The general installed capacity within the region reaches more than 280 000 KW. It is a county with the biggest stalled small-size hydro-electricity capacity in the country and the national demonstration county of small-size hydro-electricity development. The zone is built with 110 and 200 KVA power supply network and supplied by Chendian International and Xiangnan Power Corporation, which makes the power sufficient and its price low. The two parks of the zone are built with free-running water supply system, which makes the water supply sufficient and its price low.
