It was reported that Shi Guangming- Member of Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Committee Standing Committee and Commissioner of Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Overseas Chinese Committee led an investigation team to check Chenzhou city’s foreign trade. Zhong Benqiang- Director of Chenzhou Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee attended the symposium.

In recent four years, the total volumes of Chenzhou city’s actual use of foreign investment and paid-in domestic funds were US$3.573billion and 116.788billion yuan. It kept the second place of the actual use of foreign investment for 13 consecutive years in Hunan province, and kept the top three place of the paid-in domestic funds for 11 consecutive years. From this January to July, the total amount of actual use of foreign investment was amounted to US$743million, up 11.38%; the paid-in domestic investment was amounted to 24.6billion yuan, up 13.58%; and the total amount for export and import trade was US$1.614billion and total amount for processing trade was US$1.046billion.

The principals of some subordinate departments of transportation, customs and industrial parks and principals of some enterprises presented some comments on current situation of Chenzhou city’s foreign trade on the symposium. After listening to the speeches delivered by the attendees, Shi Guangming highly affirmed Chenzhou city’s achievements of foreign trade. He stated the communication mechanism should be established between the government and enterprise to promote the sound development of enterprises; all the problems listed by the enterprises should be well collected and solved by law; and the problems of the regional projects can be proposed by Chenzhou delegation.

Zhong Benqiang appreciated Hunan Provincial Peoples’ Congress’s concern for Chenzhou city by holding the investigation there. He hoped Hunan Provincial Government to keep supporting Chenzhou city’s foreign trade, especially on the key regions and key industries.
