The Ash Storage Field Photovoltaic Power Station of China Resources Power Liyujiang Power Plant, as the first ground centralized photovoltaic power station during the “14th Five Year Plan” in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, was connected to the power grid for power generation at full capacity, which is of great significance for adjusting the energy structure, promoting energy conservation and emission reduction, and achieving sustainable economic development in Chenzhou City.
The photovoltaic power station, located in Liyujiang Town, Zixing City, has achieved efficient land utilization and the regeneration of waste resources by using the idle space of the ash storage field through careful design and efficient construction. It is an innovation in traditional energy utilization methods and a practice of the concept of green development.
The photovoltaic power station has the total installed capacity of 60 megawatts, covering an area of 1,222 mu (about 81.47 hectares) with a total investment of 280 million yuan.
At present, the project can send to the power grid over 60 million kWh of clean electricity every year at full-capacity production, which can meet the daily electricity needs of 30,000 households for one year. It can save about 22,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 54,000 tons.
