“The wind farm project was put into operation on January 1, 2025, with an expected annual power generation of 170 million kilowatt hours. It can save about 21,700 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 56,400 tons, injecting more clean energy into the economic development of Guiyang,” said Li Cheng, head of the project.

The grid connected power generation of the wind farm marks a new page in the new energy industry of Guiyang County. As an area rich in wind and solar energy, Guiyang County has accelerated the layout of clean energy based on its wind energy resources in recent years. At present, Guiyang County has signed contracts for a wind, solar, and photovoltaic installed capacity of 3.1 million kilowatts, with a total investment of 26 billion yuan. 925,000 kilowatts have been put into operation.

The project is the sixth new energy project invested and constructed by PowerChina Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. in Guiyang County. It is designed to install 16 wind turbines with a single capacity of 5 megawatts. As of now, the total installed capacity of new energy projects invested by the company has reached 336,000 kilowatts, which will inject strong impetus into the development of clean energy in the region.
