Wind turbines installation underway in Anren County

2025-02-25

Recently, the construction site of Qifeng Mountain Phase II Wind Farm project in Anren County was a hive of activity. The project will build 11 wind turbines in Jiumeixian and Houtanxian mountains. As a new engine for the development of green economy in Anren County, it will inject strong momentum to rural revitalization.

On the Jiumeixian No.1 wind turbine platform, the construction workers were skilfully installing bolts and nuts for the tower lifting equipment.

Wang Xiliang, the 800T crawler crane operator, with more than ten years of lifting experience, said, “Today, we have to work from 8am to 6pm, and must be fully focused. The tower and the nacelle need to be raised to a height of over 100 meters, and even a slight mistake could lead to rework or serious accidents.”

At the installation site of the nacelle lifting equipment, workers were busy working with the crane driver to ensure precise connection of the hooks through gestures and walkie talkies.

Inside the nacelle, the installation of turning tools, low-voltage side phase change and other accessories was carried out synchronously. The wind turbine, 115 meters high, consists of 5 tower segments, a 140-ton generator, and 3 97-meter-long blades.

The diameter of the wind turbine reaches 200 meters, and one rotation can generate 10 degrees of clean electricity, which precisely meets the daily electricity needs of a household.

The single unit power of the wind turbine is 6,250 kilowatts, with a maximum power generation of 6,250 degrees per hour. It can operate continuously under wind speeds ranging from light breeze to strong wind.

Rao Jialong, leader of the project, said that the total installed capacity of the project is 61.3 megawatts, with a total investment of 400 million yuan. The annual power generation can reach 120 million kWh, saving about 4,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 10,000 tons, which is equivalent to planting nearly 1 million trees every year.

The project is scheduled to complete the hoisting and commissioning of 11 wind turbines for grid connection in May 2025, and achieve full capacity production at the end of May.

At present, the construction of the wind farm and booster station in Houtanxian Mountain is also steadily progressing. After the project is put into operation, the annual power generation in the next 20 years can meet the demand of more than 40,000 households.

“Anren has attracted Sany Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. to develop here for its high-quality wind resources, the ‘one policy for one enterprise’ service model, and ecological and industrial synergy,” said Cao Hui, regional head of Sany New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. in Hunan.

With the completion of the project, green energy will continue to help rural revitalization and promote the green and healthy development of Anren’s economy and society.
