A press conference concerning“tourism development planning for Hunan ‘twelfth-five year’” (short for “the planning”) and “the resolution of establishing first class tourism province”(short for “the resolution”) was held in Changsha Tong Cheng Hotel on June 18, 2012. It was mentioned at the meeting that the tourism industry should be cultivated as the strategic pillar industry and the modern service industry satisfying people’s demands, which made Hunan province tourism turned from advanced tourism industry to be first-class tourism province.

Wang Guangming- Deputy Secretary General of Hunan Government was presented at the conference and delivered an important speech there. Wang mentioned that the issuing of both “the planning” and “the resolution” marked that Hunan government had set the great target to build the first-class tourism province and drawn up the blueprint. All the departments were sincerely hoped to seize the chance to create a new stage of Hunan province tourism; more investors were welcomed to enter into Hunan and helped promote Hunan province tourism industry upgrading; presses were eagerly wished to help advertise more information of Hunan tourism to accelerate its quick development.

Director General of Hunan Tourism Bureau- Yang Guangrong introduced much details of “the planning” and “the resolution” from three aspects. There were 5 backgrounds for the issuing of the two files such as national strategy for confirming the target, domestic demand extension for creating the environment, industry development for intensifying the foundation, convenient traffic for establishing the condition, and government promotion for constructing the atmosphere. There were 6 main contents for “the resolution”. First, the significance for the construction of first-class tourism province; second, the confirmation for the strategic identification of the construction; third, classification of the construction principals; forth, 10 key tasks for the construction; fifth, favorable measures for the construction; sixth, leadership of the construction. There are five contents for “the planning. First, summarization of the tourism development in the“eleventh-five year” period; second, confirmation for the tourism development guiding ideology, target and basic principal for “twelfth-five year”; third, the tourism space format and product suggestion; forth, tourism industry system construction; fifth, the guarantee system for tourism industry development. Yang was confident that the two files would guide Hunan province tourism industry to be improved faster and better.

Deputy Director General of Hunan Tourism Bureau- Xiong Jian introduced 2012 China Hunan (Third) Tourism Industry Expo (short for “tourism expo”) on the conference. Xiong said, in order to promote the first-class tourism province construction, the “tourism expo” will be held by Hunan Tourism Bureau and Central South Press and Media Group in Changsha Red Star International Convention and Exhibition center from September 14- 16, which has four special characteristics of the most complete operational tourism styles, large scale, abundant activities, solid promotion, etc.. The tourism expo is with 30000 square meters areas ,which may attract 500 exhibitors abroad and domestic, 150,000 visitors, and more than 100 Medias to be there, whose exhibits cover food, accommodation, traffic, travel, shopping, entertainment, new operational styles, tourism comprehensive service and other aspects. Furthermore, there are different theme activities holding to meet different visitors’ demands.

Director General of Hunan Tourism Bureau- Yang Guangrong and Deputy Director General of Hunan Tourism Bureau- Xiong Jian answered the questions asked by journalists on the press conference.
