“Departments at all levels of Hunan province should seize the chance to improve Hunan province to be the first-class province in tourism and try to create a new stage of Hunan tourism industry. ” It was learned from the press conference held by news office of Hunan government that Hunan provincial party committee and Hunan government called for the construction of first-class tourism province. The blueprint was also presented during the conference, showing that all the indexes such as total output of tourism, tourism scale, comprehensive strength, etc. will be among the top after 5-10 years’ efforts; Hunan province will turn to be the first-class tourism province from the tourism industry province; visitors worldwide will be 400 million annually in 2015, hitting total output of tourism of 360 billion yuan and covering 14% GDP.

During“eleventh-five year”, Hunan tourism industry improved to be with more than 100 billion yuan scale and was listed to be the top 10 of China, which enabled Hunan province to be the first class tourism industry province from the advanced tourism resources province. In order to accelerate the tourism industry’s improvement and reach the target of the first class tourism province, Hunan government issued “tourism development planning for Hunan ‘twelfth-five year’” (short for “the planning”) and Hunan provincial party committee and Hunan government launched “the resolution of establishing first-class tourism province”(short for “the resolution”) in this May.

Wang Guangming- Deputy Secretary General of Hunan Government said: the guiding ideology, target and principal of establishing first-class tourism province were clearly indentified in“the resolution”, so that the key point for the work was to form the tourism industry pattern and the brand influence of “splendid Hunan, happy Hunan” should be intensified. Meanwhile, tourism traffic infrastructures should be accomplished to realize the free traffic for the whole province. The tourism management and service quality should be upgraded; tourism market should be extended wider; digital sceneries should be constructed faster and the integration between tourism industry and relative industries should be intensified more. It was also required by “the resolution” that tax and finance supports should be covered to the tourism industry; more capital channels should be extended; tourism construction land should be guaranteed, and stronger planning and legal system construction should be intensified.

Director General of Hunan Tourism Bureau- Yang Guangrong explained much of the details of “tourism development planning for Hunan ‘twelfth-five year’”. According to the planning, nine international tourism products like Shaoshan, Hengshan, Fenghuang, Langshan, etc. will be constructed at the priory time; 10 more brands domestic tourism will be cultivated later; 100 national level tourism zones will be established; 100 stars hotel will be built; 10 famous tourism enterprises with annual total income of 1 billion yuan will be improved; and the development of tourism equipment manufacturing, new format of convention tourism , tourism intelligence travel should be actively explored.
