The second cherry blossom festival was launched in Suxian ridge on April 13, 2012 and lasted for three days. Despite the overnight storm, part of cherry blossoms have become the falling petals, but it still did not affect visitors' mood.

A series of theme activities are to be organized, such as blind dates, cherry tree adoption, photography contests, body paintings, wedding dress shows and tea tasting etc..

Based on its own characteristics, some different seasons and periods of tourist landscapes were designed by Suxin ridge scenic spot. In addition, many superior types of the cherry trees were imported from Japan. Till now, there have more than 3,000 trees, including the color of red, pink and white, which makes the spot as the biggest area of cherry blossom in Chenzhou.

Chenzhou municipal leader, the minister of Publicity Department Zhou Yingchun declared the commencement of cherry blossom festival and stated that a tourism platform has been established by Suxian ridge cherry blossom festival. The final purpose is to dig the content of the culture and to create a brand of the ecological tourism city through abundant activities of cherry blossom festival.
