The renovation the Emperor Yi’s Mausoleum Scenic Area in Chenzhou City was completed on June 14. The buildings and environment have taken on an entirely new look.
The Emperor Yi’s Mausoleum is a national cultural relics protection unit, which has witnessed the historical changes of Chenzhou for 2,200 years. It is also an important historical and cultural symbol and a nighttime cultural tourism cluster.
Before the renovation, the color of vermilion paint and murals of the main hall and the walls faded, and the garden was overgrown with weeds. After the renovation, the exhibits in the east and west halls have been rearranged, buildings, walls, memorial archways repaired, and the environment around the entrance improved. A new library was built with a large collection of books about the local history, which will be opened to the public soon.
This project also involves the infrastructure improvement of Yingbin Lane on Heping Road, as well as the renovation of the old residential buildings in the surrounding area. At present, the entire project has been completed.
