Chenzhou's Foreign Trade Volume Hits One Bln Dollars

Chenzhou's gross value of imports and exports totaled 1.149 billion dollars from January to October in 2011 with a year-on-year increase of 50.41%, hitting one billion dollars for the first time. The total value brought by processing trade stood at 274 million dollars, rising by 114.9% over the same period of last year with the growth ranking second across the province. Meanwhile, the city's percentile that processing trade volume took up in the city's total foreign trade volume was the biggest across Hunan province.

Chenzhou has adhered to the strategy of opening wider to the outside world. Effective measures have been taken to promote Chenzhou's foreign trade development. Significant progress has been made in the standard workshop construction. While persisting in developing trade through science and technology, the city endeavors to boost trade by service and vigorously promote enterprises to open up new market.

In addition, Chenzhou-based enterprises are encouraged to operate business on their own. Efforts have been made to assist them to handle customs clearance procedures for export and continuously regulate trade-related behaviors. Up to date, the city has verified information for 288 documented foreign trade enterprises.
