According to the record from Chenzhou office of Changsha Customs, there were 17 registered processing trade contracts with 200 million dollars submitted to the office, up 21.5% and 179.5% respectively compared with that of the last year. Actual import & export value of processing trade hit 380 million dollars with an increase of 203.7%. $ 170 million of the value were for import, up 328.7%, while 210 million dollars for export, up 147.9%. With the continual effort, following Changsha and Zhuzhou, Chenzhou has become the third one in Hunan province in processing trade value.

The key reason for the increase was that Chenzhou export processing industry zone’s development advantages were gradually revealed. In the first half year, the zone gained the total value of 290 million dollars on processing import and export with the growth of 308.1%, covering 76.3% of the whole value of Chenzhou in this period. In recent years, Chenzhou government has seized the chance of being South Hunan national undertaking industrial demonstration zone to forcefully promote undertaking industry transfer and processing trade of Chenzhou processing zone, which greatly help the zone to act its main battlefield function on export-oriented economy. Meanwhile, more enterprises tend to be the key participants of processing trade, for instance, a batch of projects including Delta Electronics, Hua Lu digital etc. directly stimulate the rapid growth of import and export of the Park. There were 20 key enterprises which hit 20 million dollars of processing trade volume in Hunan in the first half year, among which 4 were from Chenzhou processing industrial zone. All of these efficiently show national regulation and control policies on guiding the extension of processing industry to the top of industry chain and concentration to special supervision areas.
