It was learned from Yizhang county departments that 70% of the “lighting up Yizhang” project which was introduced with over 680 million yuan private capitals has been fulfilled. Owing to this project, 42kms roads with 15000 LED street lamps were reconstructed, which can help to save 4 million yuan electric charges annually. Yizhang County becomes the first county which is fully installed LED lamps.

In response to Chenzhou city’s “two-city” construction project, Yizhang County has proceeded its high level and standard urban construction project with a three-year action plan. In 2012, there are 60 urban construction projects implemented in Yizhang County. Following the concept of “border town of Hunan-Guangdong province, green town, livable town”, Yizhang county carried out the development and reconstruction of old urban centers, comprehensive retreatment of Yuxi river, and new urban district construction along Yizhang road and 107 national highway. With this development frame, a new urban landscape pattern of “5 lake, 10 squares, 10 parks, and 10 landscape roads” was formed with 10.3 billion yuan investment. Now, with the construction of both the old and new city, Yizhang County expanded its urban city area to be 9.8 square kms with a totally new image and pattern. According to the county planning, it would be reached 15.8 square kms within three years.
