Green vegetable of Rucheng County moves to Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macau

On November 28, 2012, when reporters arrived at Rucheng County, workers were busy in the construction of green vegetable standard base, which would be handed over to the farmers to plant the out-of-season vegetables this December.

It was learned that the project was invested by Guangzhou Yuewang Agricultural Co., Ltd. with 115.5 million yuan. It would be handled by two phases. The first phase includes 680mu standard steel frame vinyl houses, 1500 open-air vegetable bases, and 8000mu surrounding bases. The second phase includes the construction of one processing factory with the refrigerate and processing capacity of 1000 tons of vegetables and 50 direct marketing stores in Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macau. The project was planned to take the business model of “enterprise plus cooperative and plus base” to carry out the unified supply of seeds and seedlings, unified technological instruction, unified quality control and unified marketing channel. Gaoshan Vegetable Professional Cooperative of Tianzhuang village, Rucheng county is in charge of land transfer, while Guangzhou Yuewang Agricultural Co., Ltd. is in charge of production and operation with the employment of local farmers. All the vegetables produced in the bases are directly sold to high schools of Guangdong province, government departments and supermarkets, which cut some marketing processes, save the cost accordingly and effectively and promote the docking of “vegetable garden” and “vegetable basket”. Furthermore, local farmers can get the land rent with 400 yuan/mu and find their jobs without going outside. Once finished, the project would reach 100 million yuan annual output value with 20 millon yuan profit and 1200 yuan per capita income increase of local farmers.
