Chenzhou city to work with Hunan Telecom and build “smart Chenzhou city”

The signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation called “digital Chenzhou, smart city” between Chenzhou city and Hunan Telecom was held on December 14, 2012. According to the contract, Hunan Telecom will allocate 1.5 billion yuan investment on the smart city construction issues, especially on 6 demonstration projects. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City and Liao Renbin- General Manager of Hunan Telecom attended the signing ceremony and delivered speeches there.

On October 22, 2012, Hunan government signed a contract called “strategic cooperation frame of informatization on building ‘digital Hunan, smart city’ together” with China Telecom. That was the start of the construction of “digital Hunan, smart city”. As the key undertaking and service enterprise of Chenzhou smart city construction, Hunan Telecom designated Chenzhou as the demonstration base of the smart city to support the construction of Chenzhou network infrastructure and application of new smart facilities. According to the plan, Hunan Telecom will invest more than 1.5 billion yuan within “twelfth five-year plan” period on Chenzhou network construction, especially on six smart demonstration projects to fully upgrade the informatization level of Chenzhou city.

In recent years, Chenzhou city paid great efforts on promoting the comprehensive development of informatization, new industrialization, new urbanization and agricultural modernization, which greatly helped to improve its comprehensive strength and informatization level. Chenzhou Telecom fully played its comprehensive information service advantages on business, network and technology to undertake a series of key projects like digital administration network, “safe city” network monitoring, digital city management, rural area informatization, etc.. All those work further supported the upgrading of Chenzhou city quality, comprehensive competitiveness, and accelerated the construction of an international and modern Chenzhou.

Qu Hai stated that Chenzhou municipal party committee and Chenzhou government would keep supporting Hunan Telecom to carry out its work on the construction and development of Chenzhou city. He sincerely hoped Hunan Telecom could pay more attention to supporting and helping the development of Chenzhou city, and hoped both two parties could work together to achieve the goal of “digital Hunan, smart city”.
