Public platform of “digital Chenzhou” geographic information officially launched

On December 14, 2012, “digital Chenzhou geospatial framework construction” project was successfully approved by the expert group. Chenzhou basic geographical information center was officially inaugurated on the same day, marking the public platform of “digital Chenzhou” geographic information was officially launched. Deputy Director of State Mapping Geographic Information Bureau- Li Weisen, Vice Chairman of Hunan Provincial CPPCC and Deputy Minister of Hunan Land and Resource Ministry- Yang Weigang, and Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City- Qu Hai attended the ceremony and delivered speeches there.

“Digital Chenzhou geospatial framework construction” project was started in 2007 in Chenzhou city. After four years, it was basically completed in 2011 and passed the inspection of Hunan provincial department. It won the silver medal of 2011 China geographic information industry. With the “Four Chenzhous” targets worked out in Chenzhou city, a “digital Chenzhou” was confirmed accordingly in 2011. Digital Chenzhou project was the first digital city project in Hunan province and one of the second batches of pilot cities of China as well.

“Digital Chenzhou geospatial framework construction” project is consisted of 4 systems, which cover different basic geospatial data with 8 application demonstration sub-systems. This geospatial public service platform helps to realize the sharing and application of natural resources and spatial geographic administration information data.

Qu Hai stated in his speech that it marked the great achievement of promotion and construction on digitization, informatization and intellectualization in Chenzhou city with the successful establishment of digital Chenzhou geospatial framework. This framework helped to set a strong foundation for the fulfillment of “digital Chenzhou”. Chenzhou government will focus on the target set on “‘twelfth five-year plan’ of digital Chenzhou” to enhance the promotion and application of digital Chenzhou geospatial framework and accelerate the construction of “digital Chenzhou” to provide the better support for the further development of society management, well-being and comprehensive competitiveness.

Chenzhou municipal leaders Chen Shezhao, Zhang Aiguo, Xia Limin and Zhang Chengcheng participated in relative activities.
