Yuan Jianyao stated that Chenzhou government should keep the sustainable and healthy development on tobacco industry
From March 13-14, 2013, the Assistant of Hunan Provincial Governor- Yuan Jianyao led a team to investigate the tobacco industry condition of Chenzhou city. On their trip, they visited Jiahe, Guiyang, Yongxing and some other counties to learn more details.
When the team arrived at Puman village of Jiahe county, the tobacco farmers were busy in transplanting the tobacco seedlings. According to the record, the annual output capacity of flue-cured tobacco of Puman village was over 12,000mu with more than 34,000 loads of tobacco leaves. Till now, 70% tobacco seedlings have been transplanted yet which enabled the whole work can be done before March 20, 2013. Yuan stated that seedling transplant was the first step of tobacco production, so great efforts should be placed on this issue to ensure following work can be carried on accordingly.
Taihe town is the new tobacco production area available for Guiyang county in 2013. 7000mu fields were transferred to plant tobacco this year. Now, the tobacco farmers are working on the land consolidation and water supply supporting facilities construction. Yuan said the new production area should be developed with high level planning and standard. Meanwhile, Specialized cooperatives and industrial chains should be set up rapidly.
Yuan and his team also took visits to Guangfa village of Jiahe county, Haotang village of Guiyang county, Bolin town of Yongxing county, etc. to learn the details of land consolidation, seedling cultivation and tobacco seedling transplant. Yuan emphasized that all the departments should seize the chance to upgrade the tobacco industry to be large-scale and mechanization. The infrastructure construction should be improved to match the rapid development of tobacco industry. Furthermore, stronger management measures should be enhanced on the industry to ensure its sustainable and healthy development.
