Working together to forge hundred billion non-ferrous metal industry clusters

More supports will be placed on the Chenzhou city’s take-off. The forth thematic consultation entitled“Innovative Development of Non-ferrous industry” was held by Hunan Science and Technology Department and Chenzhou government. It was confirmed in the conference that both the two parties would work together to forge the hundred billion non-ferrous metal industry clusters to promote Chenzhou city’s take-off. Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Peng Guofu- Secretary of Party Group and Ministry of Hunan Science and Technology Department attended the conference.

The consultation mechanism between Hunan Science and Technology Department and Chenzhou government was established in 2009. Along with the promotion of the consultation, a batch of national and provincial level key scientific projects were with great progress and a science and technology innovative mechanism was gradually established in Chenzhou city. Science and technology played a more important role in the promotion of Chenzhou city’s regional economic and social development.

Five topics were submitted by Chenzhou government on the conference to apply more supports by Hunan Science and Technology Department. They were promotion on high-tech industrial park construction, establishment of hundred billion non-ferrous metal industrial park, heavy metal pollution control, water resource protection and reasonable development in Dongjiang lake area, improvement of Chenzhou ecological city construction, and Suxian district’s establishment of Hunan province pilot area of sustainable development.

Peng Guofu highly affirmed the science and technology work handled by Chenzhou government. Peng stated that science and technology development idea was promoted in all the areas of Chenzhou city’s development to assist the sound economic and social development. Hunan Science and Technology Department would fully support Chenzhou government work followed by the consultation. Peng also suggested that more attention should be placed on the enterprises to promote their leading role performance to establish more innovative mechanism, and meanwhile technological achievement should be transformed to productivity with Hunan planning and Chenzhou features.

Xiang Lili said the consultation mechanism established between Hunan Science and Technology Department and Chenzhou government was one of the most effective mechanisms handled by Chenzhou government with some departments. Due to the forceful promotion of technology, transformation development and scientific development were with great improvement in Chenzhou city. Further promotion of scientific innovation of science and technology would be placed in Chenzhou city to upgrade its innovative capacity.
