It was learned that Xiaotang toll gate of south section of Leiyi expressway was closed from May 27, 2013 for repair. This repair work would last for about half year. More cars drivers chose to exit from Baocheng station after Xiaotang was closed.

It was introduced that during this repair period, half of the road would be closed and half can be kept one-way transportation. From May 27 to the end of August, the cars driven from south to north can keep normal lines, while from end of August to late November north to south cars would be workable to follow normal lines.

Traffic flow: Xiaotang toll gate was with a decrease of 52% while Baocheng with an increase of 29%

The reason caused by such situation was because once the south section of Leiyi expressway was closed, more drivers chose to go to Guangdong province from Baocheng exit to save some time.

Some drivers still chose to enter the expressway from 107 national road which made the traffic flow in this road keep high. That was because some drivers were more familiar with this road and the distance and fuel cost were similar to other lines.

Drivers: more time and mileage caused to drive from other lines

It was learned from one of the drivers, according to the signs set for the instruction of changing lines, three more hours were cost for these changes to arrive at his destination. Though traffic was smooth on these lines, more transportation cost was occurred during this repair period. But the drivers were still expecting to the fulfillment of this repair which would be better for their future transportation.

It was introduced from another driver who drove from 107 national road that about 20kms more mileages caused to change to enter the expressway from this road, but the instruction signs were clear for the drivers to find their way and traffic condition was smooth.

Management office of Leiyi expressway: more propaganda work and better traffic guidance would be handled out accordingly

It was introduced by the staff of Xiaotang toll gate that every car would be issued with one leaflet with the instruction of split-flow during the repair period and also would be informed that the way from south to north was available.

A team of transportation safety was dispatched to remind the drivers the closure of Leiyi express section from north to south way before the drivers arrived at Chenzhou toll gate.
Besides the leaflet, more instruction signs were set in the center of split-flow. At the meantime, more traffic polices, road administrators, traffic safety officers were sent out to handle the traffic guidance and traffic safety control to make sure the smooth performance of traffic and best condition of project construction site.
