An investigation group of Hunan Provincial CPPCC visited Chenzhou city to take the research of Chenzhou city’s development of groundwater resources
Hu Weilin- Member of Hunan Provincial CPPCC Standing Committee and Director of Hunan Resources and Environment Committee led team to take the research of Chenzhou city’s development of ground water resources on May 31, 2013. It was mainly for studying how to turn the advantages on underground water resources to be advantages on economy development, and achieve the purpose of environment protection as well on the process.
Currently, Chenzhou city focused its development of groundwater resources on the hot springs. 35 hot springs accounting 38.64% of Hunan province total amount were discovered in Chenzhou city. Besides spa, medical care, leisure, etc., Chenzhou city expanded the application of the geothermal resources into agriculture, such as planting of Kudingcha, special aquaculture, hybrid rice and other researches. According to the data, 60000 tons coal amounting to a small size mine’s annual productivity were saved by the development of Chenzhou city’s geothermal resources. 4.35 billion yuan comprehensive income was hit by Chenzhou hot spring resorts, which was about 35.2% of the total tourism revenue of Chenzhou city.
It was introduced that an upgraded development plan of Chenzhou city’s hot spring would be carried out to develop the hot spring under protection. Furthermore, comprehensive construction plan would be figured out by the expert to expand hot spring’s function. At the meantime, more investment on the infrastructure construction would be placed to improve the hot spring areas hardware level to attract more tourists.
