It was learned from Chenzhou Municipal Rural Ministry that a sound improvement of rural economical improvement was reached in Chenzhou city in the first half year. The estimated agricultural added value was amounted to 6.606 billion yuan with an increase of 4.6%.

Agricultural production was one of the key points which can indicate the condition of rural economy. According to the record, the grain production of Chenzhou city increased slightly. Early season rice was fulfilled with 1.567 million mu, just 5000mu more than last year; spring and summer season grain was 0.802 million mu, up 65500mu; vegetable planting area was about 0.85 million mu with an estimated yield of 1.05 million tons; pigs and livestock were with 3.20 million pieces and 150 million pieces separately; tobacco planting was about 0.41 million mu.

Furthermore, the agricultural projects were improved greatly in Chenzhou city in the first half year. Reinforcement projects of dangerously weak reservoirs, investment on agricultural comprehensive development and tobacco base projects, poverty alleviation projects of Luoxiao mountainous area (Chenzhou), central subsidies for the purchase of agricultural machines, and other issues handled out well in Chenzhou city to ensure a sound economical condition of rural economy.
