It was stated on working conference of tobacco purchasing & modern tobacco agriculture construction

Working conference of tobacco purchasing & modern tobacco agriculture construction was held on July 11, 2013 in Chenzhou city. It was stated on the working conference to forge tobacco industry as a one hundred billion yuan industry cluster. Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee attended the conference and delivered an important speech there.

Compared with last year, the tobacco production in Chenzhou city was kept increasing. Especially for the eight special high quality tobacco leaves bases with about 0.4 million loads high level tobacco leaves were granted Chenzhou city to fulfill the annual purchasing target and keep the top place on tobacco industry.

Xiang stated that all the departments should fight hard on tobacco purchase issues. Besides total quantity, the quality of tobacco leaves should be paid much attention on as well. It was a long term business for tobacco industry, all the tobacco farmers’ profits should be protected well to ensure their enthusiasm to keep on planting tobacco. Though the provincial target placed for Chenzhou city was 1.015 million loads, all the departments should fight for the higher level accomplishment of the purchasing target as 1.1 million loads.

Xiang also required on the conference that a modern tobacco industrial chain should be highly promoted. Non-ferrous metal and tobacco were the two famous name cards of Chenzhou city nationwide. As one of the key industries of Chenzhou city, tobacco industry should be kept improved to be a modern agriculture industry with a complete industry chain, and further promoted as one of the agriculture brands with the biggest scale, most scientific development model and best competitiveness in China.

Xiang stressed that industry transformation and upgrading of Chenzhou tobacco industry should be promoted forcefully. Some key work as land transfer, organization, mechanization and service system construction should be enhanced to promote the development of modern tobacco industry.
