Recently, Xie Zhenqi- one of the special scientific commissioners of Suxian district got a call from a farmland owner who was benefited from his technological help to improve the farmland’s businesses.

It was learned that Xie Zhenqi was especially good at cultivating pear. As a special scientific commissioner of Suxian district, Xie was in charge of teaching the farmers the skills of pear cultivation. Due to his sincere help, the owners who learned skills from Xia were benefited with high yield rate of pear on this harvest season of pear. Xie was awarded as “Hunan provincial rural serviceable talent”.

Xie was a part of “technology think tank” project launched by Suxian district in recent years. It was purposely to upgrade the technological level for rural areas. Such commissioners as Xie were selected from the professors of departments, who would be dispatched to different villages in their special field. Generally speaking, the commissioners would serve for two years in their designated place.

According to the statistics, 0.2 million mu super rice, 0.47 million mu oil tea, South bamboo, aleurites and other economic forest, 78000mu vegetable base, 28 special breeding base, etc. were promoted by the “technology think tank” project servants in recent years. With their great efforts, the economic structure adjustment and rural technology industries were promoted well to upgrade the living conditions of rural people.
