It was learned from Guangdong Tobacco Company that Suxian district has been enrolled into the list of its modern tobacco agriculture base unit and has been formally submitted the application to the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau (company) to be a national base unit.

In recent years, Suxian district paid much more attention on the tobacco industry as a key industry concerning for the adjustment of agricultural structure and development of modern agriculture. More than 18000mu tobacco planting with estimated purchase plan of 50000loads would be reached in Suxian district, which was the basic condition for the application as national modern tobacco industry base unit. With the efforts of Suxian district government, it was obtained great support from Chenzhou Tobacco Company to communicate with Guangdong Tobacco Company and finally was listed as modern agriculture base unit of Guangdong company. At the meantime, it was declared to be national tobacco base unit.

In next step, Suxian district would take further actions on infrastructure construction, protection of two fields, operation of specialized cooperatives, information construction of the tobacco stations, etc. to meet the standards of assessment for national tobacco base unit. It would be a great improvement for the district’s tobacco industry once approved as the national base.
