It was very hot in Chenzhou city this summer. But all the constructors working on Chenyong avenue were busy in promoting the development of this project with scientific scheduling under such hot season. As shown on the slogan hanged on their construction site: “60 more days hardworking for promoting top project in hot season”.

Construction site: no matter how hard it is, we will try our best to fulfill the project on time

When reporters arrived at the construction site of Chenyong avenue, all the workers were busy in the projects of three bridges.

Mr. Li and his workmates were lifting up a heavy rebar to place it to the right place with the sweat streaming down their backs. When reporters took interview with Mr. Li, he just smiled and said: “no matter how hot it is, we should keep working.”

Mr. Zeng who was the electric welder was almost drinking out 1/3 of tea in his big bottle. As introduced by Mr. Zeng, they started working at 6:00 a.m. every morning, but they still can’t stand for the heat temperature after 8:00 a.m.

It was 10:00 a.m. when reporters arrived at the construction site. Mr. Zeng was working under sunshine. Currently, 40-50pcs of iron plate should be finished every half day. Clothes and even gloves were wet for the heavy sweat first, and dry up by sunshine later. “We are get used to this working condition, and can keep working.” said Mr. Zeng. 

Measures: working in the morning and night and resting in the noon

It was explained by Zhou Shijun- the technical principal of Chenyong avenue from Shuntian Group that in order to avoid the heatstroke under such hot condition, some measures were taken by the programs department of the project, such as preparing some heatstroke prevention products like herbal tea, traditional Chinese medicine, water melon, etc.; adjusting the working time schedule to work in early morning from 6:00 a.m., rest in the noon from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and then keep working. to 7:00 p.m. With such kind of measures, workers can work under better condition.

It was learned that the dormitories of workers were facilitated with air conditioners and fans to make sure they can have a good rest after working so hard in the daytime.

Chenyong avenue was the top project for Chenzhou city’s transportation construction in 2013. It was about 31.435kms long with more than 2 billion yuan investment. Till now, 958 million yuan investment has been fulfilled, covering 58.93% of the whole plan. According to the time schedule, it could be finished at the end of 2013.
