It was learned that southward section of Leiyi expressway was closed for construction from May 27, 2013. How about its progress now? It was introduced by Leiyi expressway project department that the southward section of this expressway could be opened to public at the end of this August. At the meantime, the northward section would be started for construction and planned to be finished at the end of this November.

The reporter experienced a different trip by driving two different pavements of Leiyi expressway. One was the new pavement for the upgraded southward part, and the other was the old pavement for the northward part which was planned to start the construction.

New pavement was covered with pitch. Compared with old one’s concrete pavement, this new one was with less noise and was better for brake.
