Chenzhou is in Final List of National Water Ecological Civilization City

45 cities were in the final list. Changsha and Chenzhou city were from Hunan province.

 

According to “note for promotion of pilot work of national water ecological civilization city construction” issued by Ministry of Water Resources, 45 cities were in the final list of pilots of national water ecological civilization city construction. Two cities- Chenzhou and Changsha were from Hunan province.

 

The main leaders of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Chenzhou Government took effective action on the investigation of the work concerning water ecological construction from last year. Especially for Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee released a research report entitled “playing the best role of Chenzhou city’s water resource to create a livable famous water city”. In the beginning of 2013, a special working team for promotion of the construction of water ecological civilization was formed in Chenzhou city as well. On April 17, 2013, Hunan Provincial Ministry of Water Resources and Chenzhou Government submitted the application to Ministry of Water Resources to list Chenzhou as one of the pilot cities of water ecological civilization construction. This submission was past the preliminary approval by Ministry of Water Resources on May 17, 2013. Till now, about one billion yuan has been placed on the promotion of this construction work.

 

Followed the requirement of “the note”, it was one of the key points for promotion of water ecological civilization construction by carrying out the pilot cities construction of water ecological civilization. All the pilot cities should pay much more attention on the work with forceful leadership and specified working solutions. Concerning for the working solutions, all should be submitted to Ministry of Water Resources at the end of this September. Once approved by relative departments, they can be implemented accordingly. More support would be placed on the pilot cities to handle the construction issues. At the meantime, all pilot cities should submit the self assessment reports to Ministry of Water Resources before December 31 every year to keep the ministry to be informed with the updated progress of the pilot work.
