Performance in the opening ceremony of the tasting activity

On October 21, 2013, Dongjiang lake was filled with the scent of citrus for China Dongjiang lake (Qingjiang) citrus tasting activity was kicked off in Qingcao village, Zixing city. 

Some famous actors were invited to present their wonderful performance in the opening ceremony. Besides that some famous media groups as CCTV 7, Xinhua News Agency, etc. and some experts, businessmen, citrus planters and other honored guests were present the opening ceremony and attended relative activities.

Qingjiang citrus tasted so good that all the guests could’t help to stop eating it. One of the singers even said that he ate more than 20pcs during the rest time of his performance. Most of the visitors bought some to share with their family members and friends after tasting it.

Wang Chengqiu- Deputy Director of the Citrus and Seedling Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of the Agriculture Ministry highly appreciated Qingjiang citrus for its beautiful shape, abundant juice and special flavor.

Due to the construction of Dongjiang Hydropower Station, 60,000 Dongjiang reservoir migrants moved to other places. In order to solve the living and production problems for the migrants, Zixing county found a way of economical development to improve the fruit industry, especially citrus industry. It was introduced that there was 0.1 million mu citrus planting areas available in Zixing city now. Qingjiang town was the largest fruit production base in Dongjiang lake area, covering 25,000mu planting areas with an annual production capacity of 60 million kilo grams of different species citrus. Qingjiang citrus won several gold medals on national, provincial and municipal agricultural fairs. In 2008, it was awarded with silver medal in Beijing National Agricultural Trade Fair. Currently, 7 citrus specialized cooperatives were established in Qingjiang town, which help to promote the sales of citrus by more than 40 million kilo grams and increase local people’s income by 20 million yuan.

Huang Changzhi who was one of the citrus planters in Qingjiang town said gladly to the reporters that more than 10,000 kilo grams of his citrus have been sold out till now. It was introduced that he planted 4 mu citrus this year, over 3 mu of them were full of fruits currently. Thanks to the good advertisement and promotion, more people came here and his citrus were with a better sale condition compared with earlier year.

Not only just the villagers of Qingjiang town benefited from the citrus industry, but the villagers from villages near Qingjiang town achieved with good results.
