Purple yam production base

It was learned from Yanshou Yao minority town, Chenzhou city that 600mu of its purple yam was with good yield. When reporters arrived at the purple yam production base of the town, farmers were busy in picking up the purple yams, then packing and delivering to Guangdong and other provinces.

Yanshou Yao minority town’s Party Committee and Government followed the target of development of production and increase of people’s income to carry out different measures to promote the improvement of the county in 2013. Besides keeping the development of capsicum frutescens, 2.40 million yuan more was placed on the purple yam industry in the town as well. Unified planning, technology and purchase were handled out to make sure the good results of this new industry.
It was introduced that the average yield per mu was about 750kgs, taking 6yuan/kg selling price for example, the total value of the purple yam industry would be reached 54 million yuan.
