It was learned from the Ministry of Science and Technology that Zixing city won the title of “2013 National Advanced City on Scientific and Technological Progress Assessment” for 14 Consecutive Years in recent days. 3 person were awarded as “2013 National Advanced Individual on Scientific and Technological Progress Assessment”.

National scientific and technological progress assessment work was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology every two years from 2001. The key points covered for this assessment are as follow: construction of scientific management department, expenses on scientific projects, performance of function, yield of technology, leading condition on scientific work, etc. The assessment is the highest national comprehensive evaluation on a city’s capacity of innovation and technological strength. In recent years, Zixing city established some technological cooperation with more than 20 universities and institutes. Now, 7 high-tech enterprises, 1 Hunan provincial innovative enterprise, 1 Hunan provincial engineering technology research center, and 4 Chenzhou municipal technology research and development centers are available in Zixing city.

According to the data, total output value of high-tech industries hit 6.866 billion yuan in Zixing city in the first half year, up 26.08%. The added value of it was amounted to 2.353 billion yuan with an increase of 81.69%, covering 28.74% of the total added value of scaled-industry, up 10.65%.
